SPAM Looks Like It Came From PocketLearn

Unfortunately, one of the tricks used by SPAMMERS today is to mask the true origin of their SPAM by making it appear that it originated from the domain name of other, legitimate (and non-spamming) web sites. This type of forgery falls under the category of something called a Joe Job. In addition to SPAM, Joe Jobs are used maliciously by individuals with a grudge against a particular web site. Apparently the first victim of such an attack was an individual named Joe Doll (joes.com), and that's how this practice got its name. You can read the details here.

For the past several months, an unscrupulous spammer has been using the pocketlearn.com domain to make it look like we send the spam. We know this because we have been deluged by the SPAM that doesn't get through to the intended recipient because the account no longer exists, or because the mailbox is full, etc. We wish to apologize if this spam has reached you. Unfortunately, the current remedies for this type of activity are limited. Email message headers can be analyzed to see the true origin of this spam, and report the abuse to those responsible for the servers sending the SPAM. Many are overseas and may not be as responsive. We have notified the domains we feel are responsible for the SPAMMING, but invite you to also participate in letting these people know about the problem. We recommend www.spamcop.com to help you analyze your email headers to determine their true origin.

We assure you that we at PocketLearn are victims as much as you are, and that we would never send SPAM to promote our products or services.
