Nearly everyone is in the process of learning something. From the high school student preparing for the SAT, to the vocational student learning a new trade, the need to learn is universal. Even degreed professionals must continually update their knowledge to remain effective and viable in their chosen fields. In the past few years, computer technology has greatly increased our ability to learn. Today, PocketLearn is again advancing this capacity to learn by combining key concepts and technologies to make learning easier, more accessible, and more effective for all.

At Pocketlearn's foundation is widely available and innovative software to both create and view educational content on virtually any “smart” device, PC, or the World Wide Web (using a browser). This provides a learning framework that is:

  • Accessible – PocketLearn Device Viewers are free for individual use, and can be downloaded from the PocketLearn web site. With the proliferation of smart mobile telephones, nearly everyone can benefit. And, using the free Flashcard Studio software, or our online tool, content creation is also available to all.
     
  • Standards Based – Built on XML, HTML and other industry standards, PocketLearn leverages the best and most enduring of existing technologies to build a framework that will be as viable in the future as it is today.
     
  • Ubiquitous – PocketLearn Device Viewers are available for nearly every device that meets the minimal requirements. This currently includes the Pocket PC, smart mobile telephones (Windows Mobile and Java based), and Windows PCs (XP, 2000, NT, etc.).  Additioinally, educational content can be studied online using a Web browser.
     
  • Intuitive – Based on the familiar “flash card” paradigm, PocketLearn Viewer software is intuitive and easy to use. This paradigm includes a “Testing” facility so that progress can be measured and recorded.
     
  • Content Centric – It’s no longer about what hardware or software you have. It’s about the content. PocketLearn has taken the platform out of the equation by providing its free “Viewer” software for the most popular platforms. Then we ensure that all PocketLearn content works with those viewers. The PocketLearn web site serves as a repository for content that can be easily browsed, searched, rated, and downloaded.
     
  • Fun and Profitable – Content creators choose their own licensing model from “free” to “commercial” with several other models in between. This means that as a content creator, you can choose the type of reward that you want for your work.
